The purpose of this portfolio is to compile and present my work created while in the ISLT MS program. I think of it as a means for evaluation and resolution. The portfolio is my complete and in-depth understanding of what I know about instructional learning systems. This presentation will help bring clarity to the process and the journey I have undertaken while earning my MS degree.

In this portfolio, you will see how my career goals and learned skills align. This presentation of schema and evidence displays my creation techniques and abilities in providing quality digital instruction. You will see that research, understanding, planning, development, production, and evaluation guide me in creating effective strategies for instructional design processes. My systematic approach is adaptable because content is variable. My goal as an Instructional Designer is to create materials that are unified and accessible. I design to promote learning that explores the constructs and liberations of design. The field of interactive online learning is immensely expansive. Just as each individual learner’s experience is unique, it is at the same time meaningful. You will see in this portfolio the alignment of career goals, learned goals, specific fields of interest, the opening of doors, and the credentials of a Instructional Designer who deserves a seat at the table.

My career goals are defined by my desire to earn a seat at the table. I look forward to using my understanding of learning models and current technologies to effectively teach individuals what they want to know. It is exciting to see what intelligent systems, deep learning, and automation are doing in the field. I have a career in developing accessible content using an ever-changing array of software. I enjoy being immersed in a culture of change and an environment of iteration because it gets us closer to our goals. A seat at the table implies many things and the main one is the expectation of owning projects. Projects that are mindful of the stakeholder and user experience while at the same time a chance to develop work and non-working relationships. I will lead by example because I find it critical for the instructional designer to live the change they perceive to be true. My career goals can be summarized by the projects in my portfolio. My projects are examples of communications of purpose and collaborations with teams and individuals.

My main learning goals while at the ISLT MS program was to develop my communication skills. My fine art degree taught me a lot about how to convey messages and illustrate ideas. My technical degree helped me learn how to use computer software to display content on a digital platform. Completing the ISTL MS degree has taught me how to instruct. Now, I can develop digital communication assets and scale instruction that seeks to learn almost as much as it teaches. In this way hoping to provide impactful interaction during learning environments for learners. Becoming an analytical thinker is crucial for getting to the bottom of things. I use my design skills and curiosity to systematically answer questions and develop content. My technology and media skills assist my evaluation and decisions about how to handle content. Everything starts with solid research and can not be overlooked. It is important to spend time in the incubation period before moving on the design processes. In my demonstration of management skills, you will see the dedication to personal and interpersonal skills. Since we spend as much time with our colleagues as we do with our families, it is important as Instructional Designers to develop projects and people. The management side of things demands an Instructional Designer commit to concepts that create an environment that adapts and learns together.

My portfolio demonstrates specific fields of interest in system thinking, instructional design, learning theories, inquire and research, models and process, strategy and investigations, analysis/evaluation, management, eLearning, mobile learning, gaming, and social media. You will see examples of learning models that develop content for online platforms. In this portfolio, you will be able to take a look at the many examples of projects developed from beginning to end. Highlight the power of process and systems applications. You will see examples of work that demonstrate my ability to seek accurate, pointe, and credible sources aimed to build materials for instruction. Working with subject matter experts is an area I am looking forward to exploring. I believe that each learning situation is its own journey. The resources in this portfolio demonstrate my understanding that people need tools to adapt to their changing environments. Building efficient learning technologies for the web is the best way to reach the most individuals. Creating unique experiences and education services will help me reach my goals and combine my fields of interest.

I desire a seat at the table to share the experiences of learners, data stories, instructional techniques, and design applications for systems built on quality measurement. I will be able to help more people learn in digital media than in a standard classroom. The Instructional Designer is in the best position to identify individual learning and build personalized experiences. My background in art and technology make for a versatile IDer who can fill many roles of a project. After receiving the ISTL degree, I plan to use systems applications to begin creating procedures that accomplish instructional objectives. The individualized learning environment is still in its infancy and I think there are plenty of roles to be filled in creating a digital ecosystem of learning. Upon the achievement of graduation, I hope to use my new degree to obtain a job title that has a seat at the table. I want to explore instructional possibilities, systems applications, design thinking, creative storytelling, and exploration of human performance in digital platforms.

This portfolio combines my competencies acquired and skills gained with authentic work derived from projects, experiences, research, and discussions. You will see a variety of criterion showing instructional design and understanding system applications. Explore my favorite artifacts and learning moments that changed me in some way. My portfolio is a collection of content I produced. It is a direct reflection of four years of persistence and curiosity. Please enjoy.
